Abstract

The present article analyses Brazilian policies during the Médici administration towards the Platine countries, particularly in Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay, in order to determine the influence of this diplomacy on Brazilian geopolitical projection in South America. As the US preferred ally in the region, this policy had an important role in the balance of power between Brazil and Argentina
