Abstract

This article aims to analyse the new trends in the balance of world power, which has fragmented and diluted itself contrary to what occurred previously. In this sense, we will try to outline some scenarios marked by either a multilateralist or unilateralist posture, or even by the coexistence of both in what regards the behaviour of the USA, in order to speculate how the US hegemon can act in this new world order, characterised by various challenges and threats.
