South America, and the Mercosur in particular, experienced in 2012 a time of redefinition of some of its political and strategic guidelines, when it was established a kind of “musical chairs” between some countries. On one hand, the suspension of Paraguay and the entry of Venezuela in the south-American Bloc challenged the durability of the project of regional integration.
