Abstract

Aiming to evaluate physical and chemical treatments and levels of shading in the emergency and initial development of cutieira seedlings, were, initially, evaluated treatments on seeds dormancy break: intact seeds, seed with integument cracked, seed without integument, sulfuric acid for 5 minutes, sulfuric acid for 10 minutes, and sulfuric acid for 15 minutes. Subsequently, in a second study, were evaluated the relationship between soaking treatments with GA3at different times (zero, six, 12 and 24 h), and level of shading (full sun, shading with one and two shade screens) on emergence and seedling development. Were evaluated: emergency, emergency speed index, length of shoot and root system, stem diameter, fresh and dry weight of shoot and root system, and Dickson index. Higher values ​​of emergency were obtained intact seeds (30%) and seeds with integument cracked (33%). The emergency is stimulated by GA3, reaching 97% of emergency in immersion by 24 hours in the shade with two screens. The highest values​​ of Dickson index were obtained in the full sun and minors in shading with two shade screens.
