Notas sobre movimento do verbo, morfologia de concordância e sintaxe do sujeito
Abstract
Given that the interface between morphology and syntax has had a fruitful field of investigation in generative linguistics, especially under the scrutiny of the so-called Rich Agreement Hypothesis, which links the phonological expression of finite verb inflections to various syntactic phenomena, such as the verb movement to T and the syntax of the subject, including the licensing of null subjects, this squib aims to show that there is no universally valid model of rich agreement that can explain the verb movement to T and the syntax of the subject. We bring diachronic evidence from Danish and Brazilian Portuguese to support our argument.
