Abstract

One of the debated topics about Plato’s Sophist is the distinction between original and image, more precisely, the
difference among the original, the true and the false image. It’s
only to justify this classification that the philosopher addresses
to the demonstration of not”‘being and presents, right from the
beginning of the Dialogue, the dualism ‘reality”‘appearance’. The
aim of the present paper is creating a relationship between the
concepts of not”‘being and appearance, as they are presented
in the Sophist, to legitimize the existence of beings that are, although they are not real nor true, the phantasmata. This sort of beings is different from the other kind of image, because they
are essentially misleading.

Possui graduação em filosofia pela Faculdade de Letras e Filosofia da Universidade Ca Foscari de Veneza. Diploma de especialização D.E.A. pela Université Charles de Gaulle - LilleIII. Título de Mestre reconhecido no Brasil pela Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Doutorado em filosofia na Universidade Ca Foscari de Veneza em cotutelle de these com a Universidade Charles de Gaulle - Lille III. Titulo de Doutor conferido na Italia e na França e reconhecido no Brasil pela Universidade de São Paulo (USP). Maitre de Conference em filosofia (França). Cultore della Materia em História da filosofia antiga pela Universidade Ca Foscari de Veneza. Possui Pós-doutoramento na Universidade de São Paulo do Brasil (USP). Foi pesquisadora na Universidade Ca Foscari de Veneza e bolsista DAAD na Humboldt Universität de Berlin. Tem experiência na área de Historia da Filosofia, com ênfase na filosofia antiga e teoria do conhecimento, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Aristóteles, física e filosofia da natureza, ontologia e metafísica.

Atualmente é professor adjunto na UFES, Departamento de filosofia.
